Woke Bullshit
There’s so much woke bullshit these days, that it’s hard for someone like me, a die-hard, proud, Gen Xer, to just stand up straight and not fall over, what with all the BS flying around, all over the place.
One of these woke bullshitisms, is about “freedom of speech”. Now, as a writer, no one appreciates freedom of speech more than I do. Well, perhaps other writers too, but yeah, mostly us writers, since freedom of speech is what we’re all about.
Growing up, and all through my adulthood, until recently, freedom of speech was not really a thing, because everyone agreed that it is valuable.
But now, while everyone still considers freedom of speech valuable, a new meaning has been given to it, which, in my proud opinion - nothing humble about my opinion here (!!!!!) - makes the new meaning of “freedom of speech” complete and utter bullshit!
It now means that one should be able to say whatever one likes, without others being insulted or feeling offended. What a load of bullshit!! Freedom of speech is about a citizen having the freedom to criticize their government without being imprisoned for doing so. That is what was meant, when people first started talking about “freedom of speech”. It is not the freedom to be a verbal asshole to your fellow men.
If you want to make use of your “freedom of speech”, then have the courage to criticize your government, and have the integrity to uphold the dignity of your fellow man.
